POSITION SUMMARY This position is primarily responsible for supporting the expediting efforts of the procurement team by ensuring that all required product is delivered to the kitting center complete and on-time to meet production needs and customer expectations.
Monitors, maintains and expedites purchase orders and warehouse transfers with both internal and external suppliers.
Follows up on delivery information, handles supplier interactions and communicates delivery expectations to interested parties.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES Update open purchase and transfer orders with the most accurate delivery information; obtain tracking information for critical shipments.
Maintain and expedite purchase orders as needed to ensure material flow and availability in kitting center.
Place purchase orders as directed by buyer / planner.
Process receipt overages and shortages on shipments from internal and external suppliers.
Assist in resolving receiving discrepancies to make sure that the product that arrived is processed accurately and timely.
Act as liaison between suppliers and accounts payable to resolve any identified receiving discrepancies.
Complete special projects as assigned, providing accurate data and detailed explanations to management so they can review and take appropriate action, including corrective action when necessary.
Perform all other work as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
REQUIREMENTS High school diploma required; associates or bachelor's degree preferred Two - three years of broad-based business experience Knowledge of purchasing best practices Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface appropriately with various internal and external suppliers, as well as other internal resources across the organization Ability to perform in a fast paced, multi-functional environment while maintaining accuracy and achieving business metrics Collaborative team player who can also work independently as necessary to achieve established goals Strong analytical and problem solving skills Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite products and have a strong understanding of systems used within the business (ie LN) Snap-on is a drug free work environment and welcomes all qualified candidates to apply.
