Irregular Part Time:August through November (Thanksgiving) and February through April. 25 hours a week (5 days a week at 5 hours a day).
Position
Summary:
Assist the Resource Center Manager in the daily operations of the ResourceCenter. Provide quality customer service to our volunteers, parents/guardians and staff.
Key
Responsibilities:
Provide assistance to the Resource Center Manager with the overall administration of the ResourceCenter in such areas as:
Helping customers in their selection and purchase of merchandise, including phone and delivery orders;
Use of point-of-sale systems in processing cash register sales and monies to support all council functions;
Tracking inventory and receipt of merchandise to ensure that appropriate stock levels are maintained;
Answering in-person and telephone inquiries about Girl Scout program services and resources;
Preparing reports that support the resource center functions and other council departments;
Facilitating the lending of resource materials and related equipment
Communicate and disseminate accurate information regarding Girl Scout activities, services and resources, directing and referring inquiries to the appropriate staff.
Perform duties to support the work of the product sale, other operating units and ResourceCenter locations as assigned.

Experience:
Position Requirements:
Experience with computerized cash register operation (prior experience with retail point-of-sale software desired); math aptitude with proficiency in the use of a 10-key calculator.
Customer service oriented with ability to work effectively and communicate in a friendly and professional manner with a wide range of people.
Unequivocal commitment to pluralism.
Exercise discretion when handling potentially confidential or sensitive matters.
Excellent time management skills: ability to take initiative to solve problems and work with a minimum of supervision and function well as a member of a team.
Accurate, organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work under pressure and shift priorities in response to changing needs.
Willingness to subscribe to the philosophy of the Girl Scout Program and enroll as a Girl Scout member which includes paying a nominal membership fee annually.
Ability to communicate and foster a positive attitude about Girl Scouting.
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to sit and/or stand for long periods, and operate office equipment manually. The employee must be able routinely lift 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Open to a flexible schedule working some evenings and weekends.
Valid driver's license, a driving record that meets the requirements for coverage of the council's business auto insurance carrier and have automobile insurance limits that are in compliance with the council's business auto insurance requirements.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
