Industrial Sales Training Manager

Overview
This position supports ongoing development of the Industrial Solutioneer by designing and delivering meaningful sales training curriculum that is aligned to business strategies. The training manager creates training curriculum that is practical for the client (outside field sales) and can range from product/program features and benefits to enhancing technical selling skills as well as provide a history and overview of the company. This position works closely with subject matter experts such as Field Management, Product Management, Marketing, research, safety, other field trainers and other business groups. The training manager is also responsible for development of assigned training programs and ensures the Industrial training website/library remains accurate, relevant and continues to be a viable resource for the Industrial sales team.
Responsibilities
Identify training needs; create new and enhance existing training curriculum, including distance learning, seminars, workshops, self-study training, computer-based instruction.
Create new training materials, which may include trainer's guides, PowerPoint, electronic storyboards, audio/visual scripts, handouts, participant materials, etc. Working with product or marketing managers to revise assigned existing workshop and website training group materials which may include Snap-on history, organization structures, exposure to contract requirements as well as I/T systems training.
Plan, coordinate, schedule and deliver training programs to field sales groups and assist or co-facilitate with train-the-trainer sessions on products, programs, etc.
Work closely with Sales Management, product managers, marketing, safety and other groups in designing or cohosting delivery of information to industrial employees.
Track training results, analyze and follow up as needed on participant completion/certification in Industrial Training programs.
Evaluate training results and provide recommendations for improvement.
Effectively work with various segments of client base and consider diversity of cultures while creating appropriate training and support materials .
Organize and coordinate training workshops/seminars and associated administration, tracking and scheduling of various programs. Evaluate the quality and relevance of generic or other training programs.
Conduct and /or assist with small focus or pilot programs, as needed.
May participate in teams on the development of sales and marketing materials/programs that support new and existing products or offerings within the Industrial market. The industrial trainer must be able to incorporate resulting support materials into training deliverables and when needed, assist with cascading the information to a remote sales force.
Will assist with planning, project management of Industrial sales and recognition conferences and meetings.
Qualifications
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business or Education; or equivalent relevant work experience managing marketing or product management programs, is required.
2-3 years of progressively responsible training roles targeted towards adult learners including instructional designer, technical writer, professional sales developer/trainer; stand-up and distance learning facilitator/trainer
Recent supervisory experience (2
years) with outside field sales teams, strongly desired.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Competencies:
Knowledge of all categories of Snap-on products including features/benefits or related technical product knowledge.
Certified to facilitate various sales training and/or other recognized field sales training programs, strongly desired.
Must be able to maintain proper balance of client needs to training time constraints and ability to work with diverse delivery methods (e.g., distance learning, classroom settings, formal and informal presentations, etc.)
Strong interpersonal & solid communication skills (written, oral and presentation) are needed to accomplish goals, including facilitation/training/stand-up delivery skills, are required.
Strong planning, organizing and project management skills.
Must be proactive/take initiative; have high energy and unquestionable integrity.
Customer/client focused - knowledge of Industrial Group field sales and customer segments with basic understanding of industrial operations, processes and programs.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite products including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
Work well independently, cross functionally and in teams; thrive in fast paced & changing environment.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Some overnight travel is required (less than 30%).
Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate various time zones/locations or shifts is required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
